First Generation

1. Thomas Le Vesconte1.

Notes I had previously indicated Michel was probably the son of Thomas - It would appear to me that this is likely that the Thomas mentioned on the Jersey Archives with a wife Foy Le Brocq is Michel's Father.

Second Generation

2. Michel Le Vesconte (Thomas) died in 1743 in Jersey, Channel Islands.

Michel was probably son of Thomas LeVesconte of St. Pierre and he married Marguerite Lael - Mich and Marg. had the following children: Raulin born in 1703, Michel born in 1706 but probably died as a child because a second MIchel was born in 1709, Marguerite born in 1712, Jean born in 1716 and Philippe born 1721.
As I go through Jersey Archives - there is a great deal of mention that a Michel - (it would appear this one) is son of Thomas

5. Michel Le Vesconte (Michel, Thomas) was born in 1709 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands. He died in 1758 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands.

Only the younger four children survived to adulthood (this must be an old note but I have found references to Raulin the oldest presumably - maybe he was a child from another family)  Michel was proprietor of sloop "La Marie, " The Hope of Jersey" and the "Providence" Brigantine.  According to what I found on the Jersey Archives he was around for the Bail de Partage so likely he died after April 15   Raulin was "Connestable de Ste. Marie" from 1759 to 1763. Also "Sieegneur de Fiel de Lecq." In St,. Brelade are references to Capitaine Rauliin LeVesconte, Capitaine Michel LeVesconte and Jean LeVesconte. It is also noted the records of Harbour Grace, Nefoundland show that John LeVesconte, Nicolas LeVesconte and Michael LeVesconte, master of the vessel Union, Three Brothers, and Providence all entered Harbour Grace in 1737. They engaged in trade between England, West Indies and Newfoundland.

This page shows a list of vessels belonging to Jersey in 1737 note John Le Vesconte, with Union and Nicolas with Three Brothers http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/ProjectPl/jerseyseals/1737.htm

Michel married Marie Le Bailly. Marie was born in Jersey, Channel Islands. She died in Jersey, Channel Islands.

They had the following children:

11 M i. Michel Le Vesconte was born in 1739 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands. He died young in Jersey, Channel Islands.

15 M v. Jean Le Vesconte was born in 1751 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands. He died in 1825 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands.

Raulin was "Connestable de Ste. Marie" from 1759 to 1763. Also "Sieegneur de Fiel de Lecq." In St,. Brelade are references to Capitaine Rauliin LeVesconte, Capitaine Michel LeVesconte and Jean LeVesconte. It is also noted the records of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland show that John LeVesconte, Nicolouas LeVesconte and Michael LeVesconte, master of the vessel Union, Three Brothers, and Providence all entered Harbour Grace in 1737. They engaged in trade between England, West Indies and Newfoundland.

+ 16 M vi. Philippe Le Vesconte was born Circa 1754 and died Circa 1807.

17 F vii. Sara Le Vesconte was born in 1757 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands. She died in 1822 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands.

There were children - but as yet I don't have the records

Sara married Charles Arthur.

18 F viii. Marie Le Vesconte was born in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands. She died in 1804 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands.

7. Jean Le Vesconte (Michel, Thomas) was born in 1716 in St. Mary, Jersey, Channel Islands. He died9 before 1758 in St. Mary, Jersey, Channel Islands.

Jean married Elizabeth du Soille.

They had the following children:

19 F i. Elizabeth Le Vesconte10.

L/C/47 de Carteret Collection L/C/47/A/517 Bail de Partage between Michel Le Vesconte, Jean Nicolle tuteur of Elizabeth Le Vesconte only daughter of the late Jean, Philippe Le Vesconte, Marguerite Le Vesconte wife of Jean Nicolle - all are the younger children of Michel Le Vesconte and Marguerite Lael his wife of the first party and Raulin Le Vesconte, eldest son and prinicipal heir of Michel Le Vesconte and Marguerite Lael his wife of the second party. From Jersey Archives -= note "only daughter" of late Jean - therefore Jean was dead by 1758 (I wonder about Jean's wife Elizabeth)

8. Philippe Le Vesconte (Michel, Thomas) was born 1721 (IGI says 1730) in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands. He died11 before 1769 in St. Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands.

Marie's family came from La Maison Marett, Trinity. She seems to have brought La Porte, Trinity into possession of the LeVesconte family. From them is descended the branch of the family now living mainly in St. John.  I am guessing that Philippe died before 1769 as there is a note in the Jersy Archives that would suggest Marie was on her own in 1769

L/C/47 de Carteret Collection L/C/47/A/566 Vente de Rente between Marie Marett wife of Philippe Le Vesconte of the first party and Richard de Carteret of the second party. Records the sale from 1 to 2 of 11 cabots of wheat of rente for the sum of £481 5 sols tournois of the order of the King. Registered Book 51 folio 43 26/01/1769 - 26/01/1769

Philippe married12 Marie Marett on 2 Nov 1755 in Trinity, Jersey, Channel Islands. Marie died13 after 1769.

Philippe and Marie had the following children:

20 F i. Jeanne Le Vesconte was born14 in 1762 in St. Mary, Jersey, Channel Islands.

Jeanne's father according to the IGI is Phillippe - I am just assuming it is this Phillipe.

30 M x. George Le Vesconte was born Circa 1793 in Devon, Eng and was christened3 on 31 Jan 1794 in Stoke Damerel, Devon, Eng.

George joined the Navy in 1807 but left the service the same year at the death of his father, Some records indicate he died August 1, 1807 but this was the year his father died and that was probably the date of his father's death. In any even he would have been only 14 years old at that date.
