I first started researching the McNairn family back in the 1970's and at that time Robert McNairn of Waterdown was very helpful giving me information that he and his brother and father had all researched - Since then I have verified some things myself on Microfilms received some more info from Norman McNairn and shared info back and forth with Cheryl Grice from Indiana who has done a great deal of research on the descendants of John McNairn b 1745 as she is one.  I have also had a great deal of help and sharing of information with various friends and family that I have met on the internet in my search for genealogy.  I want to share this info with people but if you use this I would like you to give credit to those who have researched the information.

Another newpaper article: Ruby L. Racine of Cornwall died Jan. 6, 1989 at her late   residence. She was 80. Mrs. Racine was born in Colquhoun, Ontario, and was a   retired former employee of Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge. Shw is survived by one son Clifford Racine (husband of the former Melda Lafleche Bourbonnais); three brother Allan   McNairn of St. Petersburgh, Florida, Robert McNairn of Philadelphia, and William McNairn of Cornwall; two sister Mrs. Hester Gallinger of Brockville and Mrs. Hazel Appleton of Cornwall; one grandson and two great-grandsons. Predeceased by her husband Phillip Racine; her parents Alonzo McNairn and Annie Gallinger; two brother Elvin and Fred McNairn; and one sister Mrs. Mary Pitts. The service was held Jan 9. 1989 from Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes Ltd. West Branch, Memorial Chapel to Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. "An attractive wedding ceremony was held in Colquhoun United Church on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, after the close of the afternoon worship service, when Rev. C. A. Adey united in the holy bonds of matrimony, by a

double ring ceremony, Hester Elizabeth (Beth), fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McNairn, and Mahlon Gow, fourth son of Mrs. James Gow and the late Mr. Gow. The bride wore the gown and veil worn by her mother at her marriage, and the groom's gift, a diamond studded yellow gold wrist watch, also a double-strand pearl necklace that her great-grandmother wore at her wedding nearly 70 years ago. She carried an arm bouquet of delicate pink gladioli. Miss Jean McNairn, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a gown of rose taffeta, made with full skirt and shirred bodice. She carried pink and white asters. Stanley Gow, brother of the groom, was best man. The church was beautiful with autumn flowers for the ceremony, at which the bride's mother played "Treue Liebe" by Richard Kugele, as a wedding march, and "O Perfect Love" while the register was being signed. The happy couple left immediately after the ceremony for a motor trip, the bride travelling in a three-piece suit of navy, with fawn jacket, blouse of eggshell crepe, and navy accesories.".

"EXCHANGE VOWS AT COLQUHOUN--Miss Lois Faye McNairn, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McNairn, of Ingleside, became the bride of Ronald John Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Smith, Morrisburg, in a double ring ceremony at Colquhoun United Church on June 25th. Rev. D. L. Gordon of Williamsburg officiated. Miss Linda Hummel was organist for the occasion. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown featuring a lace over silk organza bodice styled with square neckline edged with seed pearls. The bouffant skirt had tiers of chantilly lace at the back. A veil of tulle illusion fell from a coronet of seed pearls and she carried a cascade of red roses and white baby mums. Miss Patsy Smith, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Whe wore a yellow street-length gown of lace over silk organza with yellow and white accessories and carried a semi cascade bouquet of white shasta daisies. Gordon McNairn, brother of the bride, assisted the groom as best man. The mother of the bride chose a beige linen dress with a lace bodice, matching jacket and accessories, and a corsage of pink carnations. The mother of the groom wore a blue crepe sheath, beige accessories and a corsage of pink carmations. Following a reception at Colquhoun Church Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Smith left on a wedding trip to Sudbury and the Georgian Bay area. For travelling, the bride wore a pink blouson sheath of printed rayon chiffon over rayon taffeta, white accessories and a corsage of pink tipped carnations. The couple will reside near Ingleside. Guists attended from Toronto, Oshawa, Ottawa, Cornwall, Brockville and surrounding district.".
