1. Samuel MCNAIRN ¹was born about 1800.

Samuel married³Mary JOHNSTONE ²on 23 Mar 1827 in Dumfries, Dumfries, Scotland.

They had the following children:

+ 2 M i. John William MCNAIRN was born about 1831.

+ 3 F ii. Mary MCNAIRN was born on 11 Oct 1832.

4 M iii. Samuel MCNAIRN was born⁴on 3 Nov 1836 in Gorbals, Lanark, Scotland. He was christened⁵on 20 Nov 1836 in Gorbals, Lanark, Scotland.

Second Generation

2. John William MCNAIRN (Samuel) was born^6,7about 1831 in Dumfries, Dumfries, Scotland.

The 1881 census indicates this fellow was born about 1831, Information from the Ancestral File on the LDS site indicates 1837, I will at this point rely on the census. So far no data to verify that John is in fact Samuel and Mary's son, however - John named a son Johnstone and the dob fits with the marriage of Samuel and Mary Johnstone. They were married in Dumfries and 4 years later - approximately a son was born in Dumfries

John married^8,9Eliza Jane TAYLOR daughter of Alexander TAYLOR and Eliza LANG on 21 Mar 1861 in Blythswood, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. Eliza was christened^10,11on 24 Aug 1840 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. She died¹²on 6 Aug 1905 in Cove, Dunbarton, Scotland.

There is also an Eliza Jane Taylor baptised on 21 Sept 1840 C190731 Source Call No. 0559522 in both cases Father is Alexander Taylor - in this case no mother is listed.

Birth date Dec 1, from Al Gorman - From his Dad's sister Olive. Dec. 7 birthdate from IGI - need to check Film - and see if this is a transcription error. Also Elizabeth Rowena is on the Ancestral File - with Dec 7 BIrthdate -

Eliza married¹⁵William Curtis TEACHER son of William TEACHER and Elizabeth Ann CURTIS on 9 Oct 1889 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. William was born¹⁶on 16 Aug 1863 in Anderston, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. He died¹⁷on 4 Jul 1929 in Cove, Dunbarton, Scotland.

6 M ii. Johnstone MCNAIRN was born^18,19on 26 Dec 1863 in Govan, Lanark,

Scotland. He died²⁰on 15 Oct 1866/1867 in Scotland.

Notes from Al Gorman, Kingston, Ontario - indicate he died in 1865 - no further info available at this time.

8 M iv. John George MCNAIRN was born^21,22on 6 May 1870 in Govan, Lanark, Scotland. He died²³on 18 Aug 1919 in Cove, Dunbarton, Scotland.

3. Mary MCNAIRN (Samuel) was born²⁴on 11 Oct 1832 in Gorbals, Lanark, Scotland. She was christened²⁵on 21 Oct 1832 in Gorbals, Lanark, Scotland.

Mary married²⁶John SMITH on 2 Jun 1852 in Govan, Lanark, Scotland.

William married Margaret ALLAN . Margaret was bornon 18 Oct 1875. She diedon 3 Mar 1947 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada.
