Ross Dickson, a descendant of this family, has
prepared a website for this family, as well. Check out his New
Brunswick McNairn Family. I would say his page is far more extensive.
There was a branch of the family that came to New Brunswick - this is what I have so far - look below for lists of Births and Land Grants I have copied from the New Brunswick Archives site. Cemetery Transcriptions too.
Patricia who I met on one of the New Brunswick lists has given me the following - plus she has more information about William mentioned below that she has sent me.
The Book The Littles of Galloway by George E. Little talks about an Anthony McNarin who came in 1817 to Richibucto, New Brunswick from Scotland on the ship The Dickes Anthony was apparently granted lot number 2-300 acres on Feb 5, 1823. Also, the book talks about the McNarin brothers, William and Anthony as well as James McClellan - were the first of the party of settlers to check out the tract of land they had arrived at 5 months before and decided it would be called Galloway after their native area in Scotland.
I do have descendants of an Anthony McNairn born in New Brunswick in 1833 (courtesy of Mel Harris) and descendants of a William McNairn born 1829 in Richibucto, Kent Cty, New Brunswick (courtesy of Patrica Wright) email me for details. These two Anthony and William must be grandchildren of one or both the Anthony and William that arrived in 1817.
Here is a spot of information about the two McNarin brothers that
came from Scotland
McNarin, Anthony christened Sept 3, 1777 Dumfriesshire d. July 25, 1858 NB -
Wife Jane? born 1793 died 1877
McNairn William, christened March 14, 1780 Dumfriesshire d. Oct 14, 1864 NB
I have a letter dated 1976 to my grandfather from some people named Johnson - who were descendants of this Anthony - and family tradition in their family was that he came to Canada with his brother to meet up with another brother - they thought John McNairn born in 1745 - but if this info above is correct - Anthony is not likely to be a brother to John who came to the US in 1773 and then Ontario in 1778.
New Brunswick Archives - search for McNairn, McNarin etc.

Buctouche Presbyterian Cemetery Transcriptions Quite
a few McNairns listed here - related to ones listed above. Look through the whole
page - they are not listed all together. These McNairns are probably all descendants
of William and Anthony above. submitted by Cheryl Grice
While I was at that site for Kent County New Brunswick, I also found some other
cemeteries that have McNairns including this one that has Anthony and WIlliam mentioned
above as arriving from Scotland. Galloway Cemetery There
are two other cemeteries that each have one McNairn listed - all this and more to come I
am sure at the Kent County, New Brunswick
website
