This is the home that Alexander and Hester (Mattice) McNairn raised their children in.  In 1900 the second storey was raised with help from George McNairn (1857-1942) and his son Johnson "John" (1888-1969). According to Bob McNairn John's grandson, they used the "good sleigh" in the winter to haul stones from the quarry.
